Study The waiting part of traditional mediums ... kills me. Although, I very much like how the wet affects the paper. Couple of watercolours during my short sojourn at Bondi ... Tangerine is HOT this season right? "If it's the right value and the right colour, it's there" Syd MeadI keep forgetting that having a white filled layer (on top of your other layers), with the layer blend set to saturation is an easy way to check for values.  That pretty much helps you avoid having to do a black and white pre-lim. fyi: it's tangerine for those thinking  orange. ^^

Something I've always wanted to post. It's an unfinished collaboration piece with Käthu Kürich. Her delicate touches and details are so nice and makes up most of the quality of the piece. I'm trying to figure out a concise way to show values before putting colour in.edit: Everything has a gradient. Every crack and bump.Different materials, render light differently. 1. I do selections, the thigh for example, then a black and white gradient towards the light source. Finish over it and fill in with incremental changes, for creases, scars, whatever. But at least it kind of blocks
